Attracted by the level playing field in Coyote Stock, lifelong racer Kermit Buffington made the jump from Factory Stock to Coyote Stock in 2013. He finished 7th in points for the season.
Kermit’s coupe is one of only 291 Bimini Blue coupes built in 1992.
Bimini Belle:
Kermit’s coupe “Belle” is one of only 291 Bimini Blue coupes Ford built in 1992. He bought the car from current crew chief Eric Shankles with only 47,000 miles on the odometer. Eric rescued the rare notchback after finding it languishing under a tree.
It had been left to rot after winding up on the losing end of a love triangle…the car “.. had been a hot rod all its life with numerous engine and transmission setups, until the previous owner’s wife got jealous and beat it with a frying pan.” Fortunately, Eric purchased the car and carefully restored it, racing Factory Stock in 2010 and 2011. Kermit bought the car for some FS racing of his own in 2012. In addition to NMRA Coyote Stock, Kermit is considering racing the car in a local X235 class.
